Emily First currently serves in the Division of Student Affairs at Grand Valley State University as the Student Support Manager. In this role, she leads proactive outreach to students who may experience a variety of concerns, including but not limited to: academic, financial, basic needs, physical and mental health, campus climate concerns, off campus housing, concerns for well-being and disruptive behavior. Before joining Grand Valley, she served as the Case Manager for Student Care and Outreach at Baylor University. Prior to her time in Texas Emily worked as a Case Manager for a non-profit organization that worked with men involved in survival prostitution. Emily is originally from West Michigan and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Taylor University and a Master’s in Education Psychology from Baylor University.
